Brookston is a town with a population of about 1,500 residents. It is an agricultural community offering
small town living with easy access via Interstate 65 to employment,
entertainment, education, and health care services to Lafayette, West
Lafayette and Indianapolis.
Economy and Government
Brookston is a dynamic mix of agriculture, small manufacturing, renewable
energy and tourism to two of the state’s best fishing lakes: Freeman and
Brookston is the home of BioTownAG
, a new breed of
emerging farming operations and agricultural production; and Meadow Lake
. This wind farm is
projected to eventually reach a combined capacity of 1000 megawatts with
over 600 wind turbines. The farm can be readily seen from both sides of
Interstate 65 running from Chicago through Indianapolis.

Crooked Creek Trails
is located north of
Brookston off Route 24 near Lake Cicott that offers horseback riding for the
novice to the experienced horseperson.
